Mighty Merrimack Swim

Description: 1 or 2 Mile Swim in the Merrimack River to benefit the American Tumor Association

Team Claire:

Course: Both 1 and 2 mile races will begin by swimming up river against the current, to a turn around buoy that will make for a very fast return, swimming with the current back to the finish.
1 Mile Race – Starts at Lowell City Beach and the turnaround is at 1/2 way point up river.
2 Mile Race – Starts at the Lowell City beach, swim to the Rourke bridge & back

Team Claire This registration category is aimed for those who are family, close friends, teammates of Claire who would like to make an additional donation in addition to his/her registration entry. 100% of the additional fee’s will be allocated directly to

1 & 2 Mile Awards:  Top 3 M/F finishers Non Wetsuit and Wetsuit. 1st M/F in each of the following age groups: 15 & under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. (No Double Dipping)

Post Race Festivities: Food/drink will be provided to all participants.

Directions: From the South: Take Rte 3 North, Exit #32, take a sharp right at the end of the ramp, Drum Hill Road/Lowell Exit.   Sears will be on the left, continue for 1 1/4 miles and go over the Rourke Bridge, turn right onto Rte. 113 East, Go .9 mile & the swim race is on the right.
From the North: Take Rte. 3 South, Take Exit #32, Go around the rotary & take Drum Hill Road/Lowell Exit.

History: This marks the 14th annual Mighty Merrimack Swim in Lowell, MA. The event was founded by Claire Cloutier, who was an avid endurance athlete, claiming her IRONMAN title at the Arizona Ironman, was a member of the TriFury Triathlon Team and founder & director of the Mill City Triathlon & other endurance events in the Greater Lowell area. Claire suffered a brain tumor and passed away in 2016. We continue to honor Claire and her hard work as we continue hosting this annual swim in her memory.

Weather: This event will take place rain or shine. If water quality tests come back poor the event will be canceled. In the event of a cancellation, a credit/deferral or a partial refund will be given.
