Description: Join us in the 2nd Annual ViaFit Turkey Chase in downtown Danvers on the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving. The event has partnered with The People to People Food Pantry in an effort to raise funds and collect non-perishable goods on behalf of so many deserving Danvers families.

Course: Both distances will start at the same time on the beautifully hard packed, well-groomed Danvers Rail Trail. The 3.1 Mile Race will turn around at the water station setup at the park on Wenham St. (rte 35) and head straight back to the finish line setup on the trail next to the Cherry Street Fish Market. Participants that decide to challenge themselves to the longer distance will continue down Wenham St, right onto Princeton St, right on to Trinity St, right onto Burley St, right on to Cabot St, proceed all the way down Cabot St., turn right on to Chestnut, and left back on the rail trail and head towards the finish line.
Kids Fun Run: If your child (8 & under) would like to participate in the 1/4 Kids Fun Run it will start at 7:45AM prior to the official 5k/4.5 start. This way, your child can complete the Kids Fun Run and join you on your run/walk. The entire ¼ mile run, will take place on the rail trail.
Team Category: Own a business? Part of a running club? This is an easy and fun way to recruit your friends. Just be sure to enter your team/club name when registering. Teams must consist of 4+ people. Prizes will be awarded for the largest & fastest team.
Swag: All pre-registered participants by 11/10 will be receiving this years race swag.
The following awards will be eligible for both the 5K and 4.5 mile distances.
Top M/F overall runner
Top M/F in each of the following age groups: 12-under,13-16,17-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.

Post Race Festivities: Food/drink will be provided to all participants. A slew of local and corporate vendors will be on site keeping you busy post event.
Parking: The Hobart Street parking lot (26 Hobart Street), located just south of Maple Street in downtown Danvers, is an ideal spot to leave your car, as the race start is right there. The second closest parking area, is a bit further down the trail. This area is adjacent to Petes A Place, located at 142 Pine Street across from Tapley Park. Tapley Park is across the street, at 139 Pine Street which offers an additional 50 or so spots for any overflow parking. Last resort parking, is in the large municipal parking lot adjacent to Town Hall, 1 Sylvan Street. The trail is a short walk from this parking lot.
Beneficiary: A portion of proceeds will be allocated to the People to People Food Pantry. We are requesting all participants bring a non-perishable item with them to pre-race packet pickup or on race day. For every non-perishable item you bring, you will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a variety of donated prizes, gift baskets, gift certificates and more.
Weather: This event will take place rain or shine. There will be no refunds.
